Description

You will modernize a mature ERP platform by gradually replacing its desktop client with a maintainable web application. The web layer is built using TypeScript and integrates with an existing Oracle + PL/SQL database backend, while avoiding unnecessary re-implementation of working business logic. You’ll also lead technical decisions, run code reviews, mentor developers, and coordinate testing and regression checks during migration.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction for the new web portion of the product
• Design and develop solutions that progressively replace the existing desktop client
• Ramp up on the existing system to decide what to rewrite vs. reuse from current backend capabilities
• Work with AI development tools (e.g., Codex, Claude Code) and critically evaluate outputs
• Lead code reviews and help ensure code quality and long-term maintainability
• Act as technical sparring partner and mentor for other developers
• Collaborate with QA to define an appropriate testing and regression strategy during migration
• Coordinate the solution’s technical aspects with analysts and testers
• Take responsibility for the technical implementation with the customer when the solution is ready

Requirements

• Strong senior experience in web application development
• Full-stack or backend fundamentals; ability to work beyond a single narrow technology
• Hands-on TypeScript (or equivalent JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem) experience
• Practical relational database and SQL experience
• Knowledge of Java (or other programming languages) and cyber security topics
• Ability to quickly ramp up on an existing system and new domain knowledge
• Experience with code review and mentoring developers
• Ability to use AI assistants during development and know when to rely on or verify outputs
• Independent, responsible ownership of technical solution delivery
• Ability to communicate in Czech for collaboration with the team and customers
