Description

You will be a technical partner to the CEO, taking ownership of the platform’s architecture and engineering standards while deciding—together with leadership and product—where the system should grow or be simplified. The role combines technical leadership, mentoring, and hands-on work across a microservices-based, real-time communication and inbox platform, as well as the Mira AI product.

Responsibilities

• Own the platform architecture across dozens of microservices, real-time communication, and e-commerce/message integrations
• Define and prioritize a technical roadmap by translating system state and technical debt into a backlog with named trade-offs
• Set quality and testing strategy across services (what must be tested before deployment) and promote earlier issue detection
• Lead how AI is used in the team and product: define what an agent can do, how to verify output, and where AI provides real value
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring via technical discussions, reviews, and backend/frontend syncs
• Partner with product early to resolve technical problems while they are being defined (not only after final requirements)

Requirements

• 6+ years backend experience with a strong focus on Node.js/TypeScript
• Experience designing systems composed of multiple services and understanding their operations
• Proven technical leadership/mentoring experience
• Ability to explain trade-offs, listen, and drive discussions to decisions
• Testing, review, and observability are treated as standards
• Strong judgment on when extra abstraction, service, or tooling no longer adds value
• Ability to give and receive candid feedback and handle tough technical conversations
• Daily practical experience with AI tools and understanding of production impact
• Plus: experience with SaaS/PLG, real-time/messaging/e-commerce integrations, LLM in product or AI adoption, AWS & Kubernetes in production, and/or security/compliance (ISO 27001, SOC2)
