Description

Player-coach ownership of people, work organization, and delivery quality. Lead predictable two-week delivery with strict Definition of Ready/Definition of Done, and improve reliability through incident & problem management with RCA and permanent root-cause removal. Establish AI-native engineering and strong DevSecOps/security practices for applications, data, and long-lived platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of 6–9 engineers: 1:1s, feedback, growth, recruiting

• Organize work: decompose business needs, prioritize and manage queue/flow in JIRA with clear “now/next/why” transparency

• Deliver reliably in a two-week rhythm using strict DoR/DoD

• Handle reliability: incident and problem management, run RCAs, remove root causes permanently

• Provide technical authority: design and code review, mentoring, engineering decision-making, and hands-on contributions when needed

• Enable AI-native engineering as the standard (code assistants/agents, automated ticket triage) with measured impact

• Ensure application and data security via DevSecOps, vulnerability/access management, backup/DR, incident response, and GDPR compliance; oversee vendors

• Steward long-lived in-house systems (TMS/WMS, e-commerce, integrations): maintenance, refactoring, gradual modernization, and build-vs-buy/cloud recommendations supported by operating-cost cases

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years leading a team

• Strong hands-on capability: read code, conduct reviews, understand architectural consequences, and drive work from analysis to a working solution

• Advanced JIRA practice: backlog, boards, dashboards, reporting; ability to lead the team’s JIRA operating model

• AI-native engineering experience: roll out AI tools to a team and demonstrate measurable changes

• Ability to maintain and modernize legacy systems without interrupting business continuity

• Practical DevSecOps/security experience: vulnerabilities and access, backup/DR, incident response

• Modern delivery cycle skills: CI/CD, cloud (AWS/GCP), Kubernetes, Docker, observability

• Modern leadership and delivery methods: servant leadership, OKRs, Kanban/Scrum without dogma, management by metrics, high-performance culture

• Polish and English at working level
