Description

You will build secure, reliable, and performant features in the Microsoft Edge C++ codebase for enterprise security and safe Copilot experiences. The role focuses on designing and shipping integrations across Microsoft security, compliance, identity, management, and Microsoft Purview, translating commercial customer requirements into scalable solutions. You will also mentor engineers and help shape the team’s long-term technical strategy at Microsoft scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and ship secure, reliable, and high-performance features in the Microsoft Edge C++ codebase, focused on enterprise security, DLP, and Copilot experiences.
• Drive technical architecture and execution for integrations between Microsoft Edge and Microsoft’s security, compliance, identity, and management ecosystem (including Purview).
• Lead cross-organizational initiatives across browser components, native code, cloud services, and other Microsoft products, applying secure engineering principles to sensitive data, enterprise policies, authentication, and telemetry.
• Collaborate with product managers, security experts, and engineers to turn customer requirements into scalable solutions using telemetry and customer feedback to improve quality and reliability.
• Shape long-term technical strategy, mentor through design and code reviews, and foster technical excellence, innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience designing, developing, testing, and debugging production software in C++ (or equivalent experience).
• Strong C++ software engineering experience including designing, implementing, testing, and debugging secure, reliable, and high-performance production software.
• Strong foundation in modern C++: object-oriented design, STL, RAII, memory management, multithreading/concurrency, performance optimization, data structures, algorithms, and debugging.
• Experience with large-scale, cross-platform systems, ideally involving browsers and/or enterprise security, DLP, identity, or AI-powered integrations.

• Typical U.S. base pay range: USD $119,800–$234,700 per year (different ranges apply for specific locations such as the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metro).
