Description

You will take end-to-end responsibility for the technology direction, making pragmatic, detail-informed decisions while keeping the overall technology area aligned. You’ll drive modernization—reducing technical debt, simplifying and unifying parts of the technology stack, and improving stability, security, availability, and disaster recovery—while prioritizing based on business needs, regulation, and real capacity.

The role requires staying close to real problems: diving into detail when necessary and defending technology decisions even under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Set technology strategy and roadmap
• Decide on target architecture and key technology changes
• Address technical debt, legacy environments, and drive gradual modernization
• Prioritize IT changes based on business, regulation, and capacity
• Define how development, delivery, DevOps, and infrastructure operate
• Ensure stability, security, availability, and disaster recovery
• Decide build vs. buy and manage technology vendors
• Set clear responsibilities for people, teams, and systems
• Work directly with management and explain technology decisions

Requirements

• Experience leading technology teams and managing IT delivery
• Strong technical background in development, architecture, DevOps, or infrastructure
• Ability to work with APIs, integrations, databases, and distributed systems
• Understanding of cloud/on-premise and container environments
• Experience addressing legacy systems, technical debt, or complex migrations
• Ability to manage roadmap, priorities, and limited capacity
• Knowledge of security, availability, and disaster recovery
• Strong communication with both management and technical teams
• Good working English

• Fintech, payments, or other regulated environment experience (advantage, not required)
