Description

You will be responsible for the development of Google Cloud Platform capabilities to optimally serve customer demand through solution design, team enablement, and hands-on PoC/MVP implementation. As a technical leader in the CCoE/ART, you will validate designs and ensure that security, quality, and cost optimization are embedded by design into all Google Cloud solutions. The goal is a flexible, reliable, automated cloud platform that accelerates and sustains cloud adoption while reducing risks.

Responsibilities

  • Define technology standards and future-state Google Cloud platform services (reference architectures, guiding principles, reusable solution building blocks)
  • Collaborate with Product Owner, Scrum Master, system architects, and team members to develop and operate cloud platform services
  • Lead the design and implementation of Identity and Access Management on Google Cloud, including service accounts, organizational policies, and modern authentication patterns
  • Drive infrastructure automation and standardized provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and reusable modules)
  • Support engineers in developing and maintaining platform services, including hands-on IaC and automation best practices
  • Partner with FinOps stakeholders to embed billing visibility, cost control, and optimization into platform services
  • Ensure security, compliance, and quality standards through design reviews, implementation validation, and continuous improvement
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to cloud best practices, patterns, and documentation
  • Build proofs of concept and proofs of value for new Google Cloud capabilities
  • Maintain high-quality cloud design documentation within the domain

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in cloud engineering roles with strong Google Cloud Platform focus
  • Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform
  • Knowledge of cloud billing models, cost allocation, and enterprise cost optimization strategies
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash for scripting and troubleshooting
  • Experience setting up enterprise-level account structures and security models in GCP
  • Familiarity with PaaS offerings and containerized/serverless workloads (GKE, Cloud Run)
  • Experience operating cloud platforms at enterprise scale (security, compliance, reliability, performance)
  • Knowledge of cloud delivery models and data integration patterns/architectures
  • Engineering/coding skills in agile environments
  • Knowledge of IT architecture methodologies (e.g., TOGAF) and service management processes (ITIL)
  • Proven track record in road mapping, technical architecture design, solution definition, and project management
  • Experience working with large, international companies or global service providers
  • Strong leadership, documentation, and customer-facing skills
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as SAFe and Scrum
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • English proficiency at B2 or higher
