Description

You will perform payment reconciliations, controls, and investigations, focusing on SEPA and international payment flows (including SWIFT and TARGET/WERO). You will handle operational suspenses, manage recalls/returns, support SEPA direct debit (SDD) activities, and coordinate incident follow-up with IT and vendors. The role requires strong back-office payments experience and a rigorous, risk-aware mindset.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile and control Nostro accounts, internal and transitory accounts, and operational suspenses

• Perform reconciliations of payment flows: SCT, SDD, SCT Inst, SWIFT, TARGET, and WERO

• Ensure transaction consistency across different platforms and proper processing of client payment files

• Track and follow up fees related to international payments

• Investigate payment transactions and process fund returns, cancellations, and recalls

• Analyze processing anomalies and accounting discrepancies; provide supporting evidence

• Respond to requests from clients, agencies, and internal teams

• Manage SEPA direct debit mandates (SDD B2B), creditor administration, and R-transactions (Reject, Return, Refund, Reversal)

• Identify operational incidents, open and track tickets with IT and suppliers, and help implement corrective/preventive actions

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in banking payments operations

• Experience in a bank, PSP, or financial institution

• Significant back-office payments experience

• Technical knowledge of payment messages: pacs.xxx, camt.xxx, pain.xxx, MTxxx

• Knowledge of SEPA Credit Transfer (SCT), SEPA Instant Credit Transfer (SCT Inst), and SEPA Direct Debit (SDD)

• Knowledge of SWIFT and TARGET/RTGS

• Experience with reconciliations, investigations, and recalls

• French is mandatory; good professional written English

• Strong analytical skills and operational rigor; risk-awareness and ability to handle multiple priorities
