Description

The UX Research Intern will assist the UX Research and Design effort across global software product teams. The role supports documenting user needs, facilitating generative research, testing design concepts with internal resources and external customers, evaluating designs, and creating UX deliverables. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and cross-functional partners and communicate research findings.

Responsibilities

• Develop research inputs that inform user personas and journey maps

• Conduct design research activities such as quantitative surveys, qualitative interviews, persona construction, solution validation, usability tests, and heuristic evaluations

• Identify research opportunities, build research plans, recruit participants, execute studies, and present findings

• Communicate research findings to product and business partners

• Support creation of design deliverables (user flows, journey maps, conceptual prototypes) and related documentation

• Partner with product and development teams to support concept feasibility and design hand-offs

Requirements

• At least junior standing in a post-secondary program majoring in User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Social Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline

• Portfolio showcasing specific examples of your research abilities (user needs, success metrics, and learnings)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to analyze research data and identify actionable insights

• Current knowledge of UX research tools, methods, trends, and technology

• Solid understanding of Design Thinking principles and UI/layout concepts, including how technology influences design

• Experience using remote testing and facilitation tools (e.g., Maze, MS Teams)

• Knowledge of modern digital design and prototyping tools including Figma

• Background in UX research methods such as contextual inquiry, user interviews, persona & journey map development, heuristic analysis, card sorting, usability & desirability studies, and quantitative surveys
