Description

You will determine the AI technical direction and standards across products and development teams, combining architectural ownership with hands-on engineering. The role emphasizes building secure, measurable, and reliable AI systems over sensitive healthcare data—covering LLM prompts and structured outputs, RAG, agent workflows, evaluation, and production monitoring. You will mentor teammates, collaborate with product and customer stakeholders, and present technical decisions and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Set AI technical direction, standards, and key architecture decisions; select appropriate technologies

  • Design AI systems with strong emphasis on cybersecurity, protection of sensitive personal data, and reliable operations

  • Hands-on design and implementation of critical parts of the solution

  • Establish best practices for development, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring of AI systems

  • Address not only output quality, but also availability, ergonomics, latency, scalability, and operational costs

  • Identify high-value AI use cases for healthcare professionals, patients, and organizations; evaluate and measure success

  • Present proposals and finished solutions to internal stakeholders and customers

  • Lead and mentor less experienced engineers

Requirements

  • Experience building production solutions with LLMs (Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic, or local models)

  • Strong backend experience with C#/.NET or Python

  • Experience designing and integrating APIs, including OAuth2 / Entra ID authentication and authorization

  • Experience evaluating and measuring LLM system quality (regression datasets, model comparisons, A/B testing)

  • Experience designing agentic solutions, including MCP and function calling

  • Practical experience with RAG, embeddings, and vector databases

  • Experience with observability for production systems (OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Loki, PromQL/LogQL)

  • Practical knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MS SQL Server)
