Description

Provide technical leadership and advanced controls expertise to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize plant electrical and automation systems. Apply advanced diagnostics to resolve complex issues, implement corrective actions, and support safe, reliable operation of processing and packaging systems.

Responsibilities

• Support Operations and Maintenance with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, problem resolution, and optimization of electrical controls, instrumentation, networking, power systems, PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, controls networks, safety systems, industrial computers, motor controls, distributed control systems, and related automation technologies.
• Perform and guide installation, repair, maintenance, and calibration across manufacturing and utility systems using specifications, technical drawings, data, and advanced diagnostic tools.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate technical activities across multiple teams while sequencing work to minimize production impact.
• Define root causes, develop corrective action plans, and implement sustainable solutions that reduce recurring problems.
• Own controls-related technical processes and lead projects including planning, monitoring, contractor coordination, equipment checkout, startup support, and implementation.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, and throughput.
• Ensure electrical drawings, controls documentation, and software are securely maintained and kept current.
• Provide technical analysis for capital solutions (cost estimates, feasibility reviews, specifications, and recommendations).
• Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to design and implement technical solutions.
• Promote and enforce safety, quality, and technical standards; identify risks and drive corrective actions in line with applicable electrical and food-industry practices and codes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology with electrical/mechatronics focus, or equivalent education and work experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in operations, engineering, controls, automation, maintenance, or a related field.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving complex equipment/system issues in a manufacturing environment.
• Breadth of experience with manufacturing equipment and related operations (processing, packaging, controls, mechanical/electrical systems).
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional technical work and communicate technical resolutions to internal/external partners.
• Ability to develop creative technical solutions for existing and newly installed manufacturing systems while meeting requirements.
• Working knowledge of project management requirements such as purchase requisitioning, contractor time monitoring, internal orders, and project timelines.
• Willingness to occasionally work shifts other than the primary 2nd shift.
