Description

You will design, build, and operate observability capabilities for software rollouts across thousands of retail stores. The role includes creating metrics, logging, tracing, telemetry pipelines, and operational analytics for deployment health, store/device status, and reliability. You will partner with deployment, platform, and operations teams to enable proactive detection and fast troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement metrics, logging, tracing, and telemetry solutions across cloud and edge components
  • Build monitoring pipelines, dashboards, and alerting frameworks for actionable rollout and operations insights
  • Define and maintain SLIs, SLOs, and reliability metrics for mission-critical deployment services
  • Create operational analytics for deployment performance, rollout progress, failure detection, and capacity planning
  • Integrate telemetry from cloud services, edge devices, deployment agents, and infrastructure into centralized monitoring
  • Build automated detection and root-cause analysis using modern observability practices and tooling
  • Develop self-service dashboards and reporting for engineering, support, and operations teams
  • Drive observability standards, instrumentation practices, and monitoring strategies across the Retail Platform ecosystem

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience
  • Strong Java development skills (Spring Framework)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
  • Basic system design skillset
  • Deep understanding of metrics, logs, traces, alerting strategies, and performance monitoring
  • Experience with modern observability frameworks/standards such as OpenTelemetry
  • Knowledge of event-driven systems and event sourcing patterns
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
