Senior IT Project Manager

B2B contract | Hybrid work – Gdańsk, Gdynia, or Warsaw | 3 days per week from the office |For one of our clients in the financial services sector, we are looking for an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead a strategic vendor transition and platform migration initiative within a large-scale Big Data environment. You will take end-to-end ownership of project delivery, coordinating technical and business teams while managing timelines, budget, risks, dependencies, and senior stakeholders. Previous experience leading a large-scale Hadoop or Cloudera migration or vendor replacement initiative is essential for this role.Scroll down to see the full job description, including responsibilities and requirements:Responsibilities:Lead and coordinate a strategic vendor transition and platform migration project within a complex Big Data environmentTake end-to-end ownership of project planning, execution, monitoring, and deliveryManage project timelines, milestones, dependencies, resources, and delivery commitmentsOwn project budget management, financial planning, and forecastingIdentify, assess, and proactively manage project risks, issues, and dependenciesEnsure timely escalation and resolution of critical project challengesCoordinate collaboration between technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and other project participantsTrack project progress and provide clear reporting to senior stakeholders and governance bodiesPrepare and present project status updates, management reports, and Steering Committee materialsFacilitate project meetings and ensure clear ownership of actions and deliverablesManage vendor relationships and coordinate activities throughout the transition processDrive structured project governance and support predictable, high-quality deliveryMust-have requirements:Proven experience as a Senior IT Project Manager leading complex technology transformation projectsHands-on project management experience with a large-scale Hadoop and/or Cloudera platform migration or vendor replacementStrong understanding of Big Data platforms and related technology environmentsExperience managing complex vendor transitions and vendor relationshipsStrong project planning, coordination, and end-to-end delivery management skillsHands-on experience with budget management, financial planning, and forecastingStrong risk and issue management capabilitiesExcellent stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior and executive-level stakeholdersExperience preparing and presenting materials for Steering Committees and governance bodiesStrong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insightsExcellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skillsPrevious project delivery experience within banking or financial servicesNative-level Polish and professional proficiency in EnglishNice to have:Experience managing large-scale data platform transformation or modernization initiativesExperience coordinating multiple technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders within complex enterprise environmentsStrong understanding of platform migration dependencies, risks, and transition planningExperience working within highly regulated organizationsExperience managing strategic technology programs with high visibility at senior management level
