Description

You will help develop and implement land-wide concepts for modern, secure, and future-ready IT infrastructure in the university context. The role includes analyzing and assessing current and future technical requirements for (further) development of state-wide IT services, coordinating new project applications, and ensuring quality measures. You will also collaborate with the information security organization and participate in committee and working-group work.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and implementation of state-wide concepts for modern, secure, and future-capable IT infrastructure in higher education

• Analyze and evaluate current and future technical requirements to (further) develop state-wide IT services

• Support and coordinate new project proposals and develop measures for quality assurance

• Work with the state-wide information security organization for universities

• Provide project support for initiatives and incubators to establish new IT services

• Collaborate closely with NRW-wide IT service portfolio management and universities in NRW to align needs

• Coordinate with similar roles in other federal states and participate in cross-state and national initiatives

• Communicate complex IT topics and support committee work and coordination

Requirements

• Completed university degree, preferably in the IT field

• Extensive experience in IT infrastructure planning (networks, server infrastructure, cloud)

• Knowledge of relevant technologies such as containerization, server virtualization, AI infrastructures, and storage systems

• Experience with the conception and procurement of IT infrastructures

• Strong communication skills to present complex IT topics to specialists and leadership

• Ideally experience in application submission or evaluation of large equipment proposals

• Experience handling and moderating committees and working groups, ideally in a higher-education setting
