Description

Serve as the lead/primary technician for multiple basic and moderately complex studies simultaneously. Coordinate study procedures, perform lab work, and ensure full adherence to study requirements and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs). Support protocol development, deviations documentation, data/quality control review, and mentoring of less experienced staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead technician on assigned studies by coordinating study-related procedures
• Review peer activities and documentation to ensure compliance with study requirements
• Prepare and maintain study notebooks, data collection documentation, and laboratory setup
• Develop and implement Study Specific Procedures (as appropriate)
• Manage project timelines, resource coordination, and prioritization with minimal supervision
• Conduct and oversee technical study activities with scientific/technical staff
• Perform laboratory procedures and collect/record research data per GLPs, SOPs, protocols, and policies
• Program tables for data input; print and edit computer entries (e.g., lab data) as needed
• Assist with reviewing/updating processes and SOPs
• Document deviations/incidents and help file and address deviations
• Assist in development and review of basic to complex study protocols
• Review documentation for quality control requirements; periodically peer review data and summaries
• Maintain clean work areas
• Collaborate with scientific staff to develop new techniques/procedures
• Participate in sponsor representative interactions under supervision

Note: Overtime, weekend, holiday, and/or after-hours shift coverage may be required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in a laboratory science or related discipline required
• Two to four years of related experience in biology, chemistry/pharmacy, or similar lab environment (or demonstrated knowledge at the prior level)
• Proficient in basic technical skills and operation of data collection equipment
• Knowledge of GLPs and other federal regulations and guidelines
• Understanding of routine study design and protocols; able to read/review basic to moderately complex study protocols
• Team-focused with accurate data recording; follows verbal and written instructions; communicates professionally with management, coworkers, and sponsors
• Ability to quickly learn and use computer programs (computer experience preferred)
• MS and LC-MS experience is helpful
