Description

The Principal Data Scientist will lead complex data science initiatives from conception to completion, extracting actionable insights from large and complex datasets. You will apply advanced statistical modeling and machine learning to build predictive models, conduct deep analyses, and support data-informed decision-making. The role also requires collaborating with cross-functional teams and translating findings for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex data science projects end-to-end using large and diverse datasets

  • Build predictive models and generate actionable insights using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to identify and solve key business problems

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other data scientists and analysts

  • Communicate recommendations and complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Stay current with the latest data science tools and techniques and champion their adoption

  • Influence product and operational roadmaps with actionable insights and active deployments

  • Discover key drivers of the business as an individual contributor and as part of the team

  • Develop measurement strategies for scoped areas, applying experiment design and statistical analysis principles

  • Build a strategic learning roadmap based on data observations, strategic imperatives, and developed hypotheses

  • Manage data pipelines

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related)

  • 8+ years of hands-on data science experience with a strong portfolio of completed projects

  • Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data mining techniques

  • Proficiency in Python or R

  • Experience with data science libraries and tools (e.g., scikit-learn, Pandas, Spark)

  • Strong problem-solving skills with creative and strategic thinking

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Proven track record delivering at least two major data products resulting in measurable business growth or cost savings
