Description

Provide network design and engineering support for the TAC2O program IT architecture, delivering secure connectivity for high-priority defense intelligence collection needs. Engineer, implement, and maintain LANs/WANs and site-to-site/VPN connectivity, troubleshoot security and network outages, and manage network flows and firewall rules. Prepare engineering documentation for planning, installation, integration, testing, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance/expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Perform network design and engineering support for TAC2O program IT architecture

  • Solve complex network issues

  • Engineer, design, implement, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, site-to-site, VPN, point-to-point, and point-to-multipoint solutions

  • Troubleshoot port security issues, VLAN issues, and network outages

  • Control network management activities, data flows, and firewall rules

  • Build network topologies to deliver content from specific providers to users

  • Answer technical questions and recommend approved courses of action

  • Provide engineering designs and plans for installation, integration, testing, upgrade, analysis, and maintenance/expansion

  • Prepare network engineering documentation (requirements, conceptual planning, R&D, system construction/customization, operational status)

  • Investigate and propose network system upgrades/modifications to improve capabilities, efficiency, reliability, and cost savings

  • Perform communication path studies and determine requirements for bandwidth, data throughput, security, and reliability

  • Maintain technical manuals and standard operating procedures

  • Develop/implement network communication paths for remote data sources

Requirements

  • TS/SCI with polygraph clearance

  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining firewalls

  • Current networking certifications

  • Understanding of network protocols and firewall packet/proxy filters

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field plus 6 years of relevant experience (or 10 years relevant experience substituting for the degree)

  • Must be 8140 compliant currently and by the security indoctrination date, with required continuing education
