Senior Network Security Engineer – Cloud and On-Premises Expertise

Krakow-based opportunity with a hybrid work model of up to 4 remote days per week.

As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will work within the Cybersecurity Capability Engineering team, designing and implementing advanced network security solutions across cloud, on-premises, and container environments. You will contribute to robust cybersecurity infrastructure and organizational resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and provision network security policies aligned with zero-trust principles.
  • Implement and maintain network segmentation technologies for on-premises, cloud, and container environments.
  • Document high-level and detailed network designs, procedures, and security standards.
  • Conduct product evaluations and proof of concepts for emerging network security technologies.
  • Collaborate with vendors on product design, features, and defect resolution.
  • Support deployment, testing, and maintenance of security agents using enterprise deployment tools.
  • Troubleshoot complex network environments and provide analysis and remediation strategies.
  • Coordinate with system areas and vendors on planning, upgrades, and testing.
  • Implement solutions that support organizational and industry regulatory compliance.
  • Deliver formal training, workshops, and mentoring.
  • Improve cyber-threat detection and response capabilities.
  • Lead delivery of product enhancements with timely, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience designing and implementing network segmentation strategies for on-premises, cloud, and container environments.
  • Proficiency with Checkpoint, ASA, or host-based firewalls such as Illumio and Guardicore in large, complex environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and technologies, including IDS/IPS, web application security, vulnerability scanners, and anti-malware systems.
  • Hands-on Linux administration and Python scripting experience.
  • Familiarity with Scrum, version control, CI/CD, and DevOps.
  • Excellent network troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and aggressive timelines.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead project delivery and product improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with additional security tools and frameworks.

Language and Eligibility

  • Fluent English, written and spoken.
  • Existing legal right to work in the European Union.
