Description

Lead the design and implementation of strategic, scalable software systems for colleague-enabling platforms across HR, payroll, learning & development, and workforce management. Collaborate with product managers, architects, and business stakeholders to shape technology roadmaps, and mentor software engineers and tech leads. Ensure system ownership, operational excellence, and high availability through strong DevOps practices and incident management.

Responsibilities

  • Drive architecture and design across multiple systems, ensuring scalable, secure, maintainable solutions

  • Partner cross-functionally to understand colleague needs and guide technology roadmaps

  • Introduce new tools, frameworks, and approaches to improve development speed, quality, and performance

  • Mentor and guide engineers/tech leads; promote best practices and continuous improvement

  • Lead evolution of core colleague platforms, including internal and third-party integrations

  • Ensure high system availability, performance, and data integrity through DevOps and incident management

Requirements

  • 10+ years in software development with senior or principal engineering experience

  • Deep expertise in one or more programming languages (e.g., TypeScript/React, Java)

  • Strong understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven systems, and distributed computing

  • Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure), Docker, and Kubernetes

  • Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and infrastructure-as-code

  • Experience building scalable mobile and web applications with usability, performance, and responsiveness focus

  • Ability to operate in large enterprise environments

  • Familiarity with enterprise HR/colleague systems (e.g., Oracle HCM, Zellis) is a plus
