Description

You’ll help build and improve a large-scale CDN and streaming stack, including a low-latency livestreaming workflow and custom DASH/HLS packaging. You’ll also work on high-throughput event processing (e.g., Kafka to analytics stores) and on optimizing cache algorithms and HTTP/URL behavior in the CDN core. The role involves prototyping, experimenting with specs, architecture adjustments, and performance/debugging.

Responsibilities

  • Prototype and experiment with streaming/data systems and specifications
  • Debug and optimize performance across distributed components
  • Improve CDN caching logic and related HTTP/URL behaviors
  • Work on failover scenarios and debugging of connections between services and origins
  • Contribute to distributed data pipelines and indexing/aggregation/compression

Requirements

  • Logical and analytical thinking
  • Enthusiasm for automation and solving “impossible” problems
  • Basic theoretical CS knowledge (data structures, algorithms)
  • Knowledge of at least one language: C/C++, Go, Lua, or Rust
  • Experience with Linux for development and operations
  • English level at least B2 (no certificate required)

Nice to Have

  • Debugging experience (top, lsof, gdb, strace, etc.)
  • Practical kernel debugging and finding performance bottlenecks (e.g., eBPF)
  • Advanced Linux OS knowledge
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, TLS
  • Commits to the Linux kernel or any performance/debug-focused project
  • Knowledge of “Systems Performance” by Brendan Gregg
