Description

You will be responsible for the stable operation of Ubuntu servers and applications for a digital certification and AI platform. The role includes administering, monitoring, and optimizing server infrastructure, handling updates and upgrades, and troubleshooting Nginx, PHP, MariaDB, Redis, Supervisor, Plesk, and SSL/TLS.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure stable operations of Ubuntu servers and applications
  • Administer, monitor, and optimize server infrastructure
  • Install security updates and plan/execute Ubuntu upgrades
  • Administer and troubleshoot Nginx, PHP, MariaDB, Redis, Supervisor, Plesk, and SSL/TLS certificates
  • Analyze and resolve performance issues and incidents
  • Monitor the full system landscape and proactively detect errors
  • Perform root-cause analysis for outages or unusual system behavior
  • Work closely with the development team
  • Isolate technical issues and, if needed, specify precise Laravel hotfix requirements
  • Optionally implement smaller Laravel hotfixes
  • Prepare for, support, and follow up on external penetration tests
  • Support continuous improvements to the security architecture

Requirements

  • Multi-year experience with Linux servers (Ubuntu)
  • Very strong knowledge of Nginx
  • Experience with PHP applications
  • Good knowledge of MariaDB/MySQL
  • Experience with Redis and Supervisor
  • Confident use of Plesk
  • Experience with SSL/TLS, certificates, and server security
  • Analytical thinking and structured troubleshooting
  • Independent and reliable working style
  • Experience with Git
  • Knowledge of web security (OWASP, hardening)
  • Experience accompanying or conducting penetration tests
  • Experience with performance tuning and monitoring
  • Experience with Laravel and debugging complex Laravel applications
