Brno, Czechia

Quick Facts

  • Role: Junior/Medior Investment Associate focused on acquisitions, investments, and financial modeling

  • Scope: Hands-on participation across the deal life cycle (screening → modeling → diligence → closing → post-deal value creation)

Description

You’ll work on acquisitions and investments primarily in Czech mid-sized companies and startups, and help drive value both through the transaction and after the deal.

The role is hands-on across the process—you’ll build models and prepare investment decision materials, and also support diligence, deal documentation, and post-acquisition planning.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and model investment opportunities: market screening, first-pass filtering, and investment thesis formulation

  • Build financial models from scratch: three linked statements, acquisition model with debt financing, scenarios, and sensitivity analyses

  • Value target companies using DCF and comparable/transaction multiples; normalize EBITDA

  • Model business strategy and value creation: unit economics, value-creation plan, KPIs, and the first-100-days plan after acquisition

  • Prepare materials for investment decision-making

  • Manage due diligence: create questionnaires, run/manage the data room, and coordinate financial, legal, and tax advisors

  • Support counsel on deal documents: LOI and term sheet, SPA, shareholders agreements, earn-out, representations and warranties

  • Negotiate financing with banks

  • Co-manage acquisition projects from first contact through closing

  • Coordinate with target teams, advisors, and financing institutions

  • After acquisition/investment, help set up management and track results

Requirements

  • Ability to build financial models from an empty sheet (primary requirement; will be tested)

  • Advanced Excel and ability to read financial statements, including information that isn’t explicitly stated

  • Economics/finance/accounting education or demonstrably equivalent experience

  • Czech at negotiation and contract documentation level; English for professional/technical work

  • Valid driving license category B

  • Junior profile: 1–2 years of experience; strong analytical base and willingness to learn

Benefits

  • Salary range: 70,000–125,000 CZK, with growth over time based on experience

  • Transaction-linked bonus

  • Real responsibility from the start in a small team (no multiple approval layers)

  • End-to-end deal exposure: from first contact and financing structuring to managing the company after acquisition

  • Direct collaboration with partners and access to decision-making

  • Training, notebook, vacation, flexibility, and a company car (Audi)

  • Perspective to participate in projects

Selection Process

  • Intro call (30 minutes)

  • In-person meeting: review your solution and discuss your thinking

  • Case study: anonymized real-company financials; build a model, propose price/structure, and identify key risks (2–3 hours)
