Description

Lead evaluation, integration, and bring-up of advanced automotive System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions for next-generation electronics platforms. Own SoC-centered application schematics for ECU development, define component specifications for sourcing, and drive test plans through board bring-up and early validation. Partner with internal teams and silicon vendors to perform trade-off studies and ensure requirements are met ahead of qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth technical evaluations and trade-off studies on SoCs and related semiconductors to identify optimal components
  • Design and manage application schematics centered around SoCs for ECU development
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware engineering, software development, and suppliers to define specifications and align system-level requirements
  • Develop robust component specifications to enable timely sourcing decisions aligned with program milestones
  • Establish and execute test plans for SoCs and silicon devices, including board bring-up and early validation
  • Stay current with semiconductor industry trends, product portfolios, supply chain dynamics, and technology roadmaps
  • Provide technical mentorship across the design cycle, from architecture and component selection to design reviews and sourcing

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in hardware design and development with significant system-level ownership
  • Knowledge of SoC subsystems and IP blocks (memory, analog, processor cores, interconnects, peripherals)
  • Proficiency in SoC analysis and selection using requirements-driven studies, benchmarking, and technical trade-off evaluations
  • Hands-on circuit design and analysis including worst-case analysis, DFMEA, circuit simulation, and schematic capture (Mentor Graphics)
  • Silicon bring-up and ECU-level hardware integration and validation experience
  • Hands-on debugging with tools such as oscilloscopes
  • Exceptional collaboration and teamwork; ability to work across functional and organizational boundaries
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously (planning, execution, monitoring)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field
  • Extensive experience with wireless connectivity SoCs and integration/optimization in complex automotive systems
  • Familiarity with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular
  • Experience with SoC architecture definition and IP integration/trade-offs/platform development
  • Proven track record leading ECU product development through production launch
