Description

Develop, revise, deliver, and evaluate assigned training courses and distribution lineworker assessments across the service territory using effective instructional methods and technologies. Provide safe, professional adult-learning-based training, coaching, and leadership to less-experienced Operations Training employees and guest instructors. May require up to 40% travel throughout the year.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate overhead distribution linework activities (e.g., climbing wood poles, working aloft from aerial devices)
  • Plan, coordinate, deliver, document, and evaluate training activities; apply adult learning principles
  • Develop and revise assigned training courses
  • Conduct training needs analysis to identify job performance and training needs
  • Assist with cost-effective training scheduling, manage training classes, and adjust schedules as needed
  • Manage employees and contractors for construction/maintenance of training facilities (e.g., pole climbing training facilities)
  • Proctor distribution lineworker assessment exams and skill demonstrations
  • Provide training, coaching, guidance, and leadership to less-experienced training staff and guest instructors

Requirements

  • CDL Class A license required
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent plus documented experience as a journey-level overhead distribution lineworker
  • Three years of instructor-led and/or on-the-job training experience
  • Ability to demonstrate overhead distribution linework activities to apprentices (climbing, working from aerial devices, protective grounding)
  • Knowledgeable and competent in current technical and craft theories and techniques within the discipline
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, work rules, and government regulations
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
