Description

Lead engineering efforts to build foundational core infrastructure that enables large-scale self-service infrastructure-as-a-code primitives, high availability, and optimized cloud footprint so teams can move faster with confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a growing team of engineers focused on quality platforms.
  • Contribute to the architecture of large-scale core infrastructure services for service teams.
  • Run regular retros and capacity/planning meetings to support high-fidelity collaboration.
  • Participate in “lunch and learn” demos for new POCs or design sessions.
  • Review, provide feedback on, and approve design proposals from the team.
  • Help plan the product roadmap.
  • Drive cloud cost optimization, balancing performance requirements with operational efficiency and budget awareness.
  • Define and enforce service deployment standards across a complex, multi-cloud environment.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of industry experience
  • 4+ years of people management experience; led a team of Senior Engineers
  • Experience managing on-call
  • Configuration management: Chef, Puppet, Salt, or similar
  • Provisioning & orchestration: Pulumi, Terraform, Ansible, Temporal, or similar
  • Immutable architecture and distributed systems design experience
  • Software development/design patterns/data structures/algorithms using Python or Go
  • Large-scale, business-critical Linux environments
  • Cloud operations experience; AWS and GCP preferred
  • TDD, CI/CD, Chaos Engineering (or similar resilience and reliability practices)
  • Knowledge of SRE, DevOps, and GitOps practices
  • Experience building and managing reusable infrastructure modules and internal developer platforms (IDP)
  • Strong understanding of SRE principles, including SLO management, error budget planning, and post-incident analysis
  • Proven use of AI technologies to improve decision-making and streamline workflows
  • Ability to work effectively with local and remote teams; strong verbal and written communication
