Description

Lead ABAP development for SAP S/4HANA projects, driving innovation through proof of concepts and strong governance of build standards. You will design, develop, review, and optimize solutions using modern SAP technologies while supporting Clean Core practices. The role also includes documenting POC learnings and reusable reference components for project teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure robust ABAP delivery through quality assurance and governance of build standards

• Design and develop POCs using ABAP, RAP, CDS views, OData, and Fiori/UI5

• Support Clean Core development to minimize modifications and maximize standard SAP extensibility

• Review and approve technical designs, code, and configurations against enterprise standards

• Explore and evaluate new SAP technologies for business applicability (e.g., RAP, CAP, SAP Build, Event-Driven Architecture, Embedded Analytics)

• Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization support

• Collaborate with solution architects and functional consultants to bridge innovation and delivery

• Document POC learnings, reference architectures, and reusable components

• Contribute to automation, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines for SAP development

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of SAP ABAP/S/4HANA development experience focused on innovation and prototyping

• Expertise in ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, and performance tuning

• Experience with RAP and CAP

• Proficiency in Fiori/UI5 and OData services

• Knowledge of SAP BTP extensibility and cloud integration, including Event-Driven Architecture, APIs, and Event Mesh

• Deep understanding of S/4HANA extensibility (in-app, on-stack, side-by-side)

• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, DevOps, and test automation in SAP environments

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to coordinate implementation plans, operational tasks, escalations, and performance improvements

• English proficiency at B2 (Upper-Intermediate) level
