Description

You will take strategic responsibility for the IT department, driving digitalization and the further development of IT infrastructure and IT support across the organization’s group. The role includes advising leadership, managing projects and transformations, integrating new technologies (including AI and cloud) responsibly, and ensuring alignment with ITIL processes. You will lead and develop a team of 5 and ensure transparency on IT priorities, project progress, and measurable improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an efficient, future-proof digital strategy with executive and organizational stakeholders, including Legal & Data Protection

  • Strategically advise executive management and coordinate with business units, group companies, and external partners on IT and digital topics

  • Continuously advance the existing IT infrastructure based on ongoing risk/benefit assessment across the group

  • Define and ensure implementation of development goals using ITIL processes

  • Identify, assess, and integrate new technologies (e.g., AI applications, cloud solutions) and tools to improve processes, services, and learning formats

  • Manage change and transformation processes (especially in growing or evolving organizations)

  • Lead an IT team of 5 employees, including personnel, team, and departmental development

  • Ensure service-oriented IT support for the group

  • Plan and control the IT budget and ensure efficient use of resources in coordination with executive management

  • Proactive project management with result assurance and evaluation

  • Ensure transparency on IT focus areas, project status, and results and derive continuous improvement measures

  • Actively shape a cooperative, needs-based, networked working approach across the group

Requirements

  • Completed degree in Business Informatics or IT Management OR IT vocational training OR comparable qualification via practical experience

  • Very good practical knowledge of IT architectures, systems and network administration, and data management/data integration

  • Basic practical understanding of IT security, data protection, and risk management requirements

  • Familiarity with AI-supported applications and their strategic integration into existing IT and work processes

  • Solid knowledge of project and process management (e.g., ITIL, agile such as Scrum, or hybrid methods)

  • Experience aligning, steering, and continuously developing IT structures in complex, growing organizations or alliances

  • Experience leading and developing IT teams

  • Experience planning and controlling budgets and using resources economically

  • Readiness to collaborate with executive management, leadership staff, and various business departments

  • Fluent German (written and spoken) for leadership communication, moderation, and documentation

  • Strong business mindset and ability to translate strategic goals into executable structures, processes, and priorities

  • High resilience and solution-oriented handling of complex situations, crises, and conflicts

  • Strong communication and moderation skills, including translating complex technical topics for different audiences

  • High level of self-reflection, responsibility, and willingness for continuous professional and personal development
