Senior Business Analyst

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst to join the Regulatory Reporting Value Stream within Group Finance at a leading banking organization.

This is a senior-level consulting engagement for a specialist with strong hands-on experience in banking regulatory reporting, combined with excellent business and data analysis skills. The role requires the ability to work independently, translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable business and data requirements, and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders across Finance, Data and IT.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and support the implementation of new business and regulatory reporting requirements
• Translate regulatory requirements into clear business, functional and data requirements
• Analyse existing regulatory reporting processes and identify opportunities for improvement
• Drive the automation of manual and file-based reporting processes
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual adjustments and improve reporting quality
• Support ECB remediation initiatives
• Perform business process analysis and modelling
• Analyse financial datasets, reporting rules, validation logic and data flows
• Work closely with Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Data and IT stakeholders
• Support the delivery of sustainable, compliant and efficient regulatory reporting solutions
• Facilitate communication between business and technical teams throughout the delivery lifecycle

Requirements

This is not a generic Business Analyst position. We are looking for a specialist with substantial practical experience in banking regulatory reporting.

• 7+ years of relevant professional experience, with clearly demonstrated senior-level responsibilities
• Proven hands-on experience in banking regulatory reporting
• Strong understanding of banking products, financial data, systems and processes
• Extensive experience in Business Analysis and Requirements Engineering
• Strong experience in business process analysis and modelling
• Proven ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear business and data requirements
• Strong understanding of reporting rules, validation logic and supervisory expectations
• Ability to analyse complex datasets and statistical information and translate them into clear business insights
• Good understanding of Data Literacy principles
• Understanding of Data Warehouse and reporting concepts
• Strong SQL skills
• Good understanding of software development processes and methodologies
• Practical experience with Jira and Confluence
• Strong experience working in Agile environments
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work independently in a senior consulting capacity
• Experience working in cross-functional teams across business, data and IT
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
• Fluent professional English
• Good proficiency in Microsoft Office
