• Focus: Telecommunications hardware (custom PCB-based products) from prototype through production support

Description

You will design, document, test, and support electrical hardware for a wide portfolio of telecommunications products. Work with multi-site hardware and firmware teams to deliver new and legacy custom products used by carrier and enterprise customers. You’ll also provide ongoing production support by debugging issues and recommending redesigns or component substitutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical hardware for telecommunications equipment, primarily PCB-based (and optionally associated electro-mechanical equipment, cables, OEM system/chassis solutions)

• Design, document, and test prototype and production hardware designs

• Coordinate with hardware and software teams as well as manufacturing and product introduction stakeholders to meet time-to-market and cost objectives

• Support production hardware products including customer-service enablement (installation, deployment, technical support, repair) and manufacturing/test

• Evaluate production issues, recommend solutions (redesign, component substitution, etc.)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and 10+ years of related experience

• Familiarity with telecom principles and standards (including TDM and IP switching systems)

• Experience with embedded processor systems and real-time computing

• Hands-on experience with test and debug tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, telecom traffic and signal analyzers)

• Experience with RTOS, kernel/user space implementation, drivers, and Linux

• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance

• Ability to work with multi-discipline, multi-site teams

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
