Description

Join the Virtual Networking Control Plane team that owns and manages networking resources across virtual and functional layers in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. You will lead architecture and implementation for scalable, reliable, and secure systems supporting planning, provisioning, lifecycle management, and security of virtual customer networks. Emphasis includes distributed system scalability, fault-tolerance, performance/telemetry, correctness testing, operational incident support, and automation via Infrastructure as Code.

Responsibilities

  • Lead system design and architecture for scalable distributed components with horizontal/vertical scaling and elasticity

  • Optimize code and systems for high-throughput and large-scale data processing

  • Design for reliability and in-service updates using redundancy, replication, and automatic failover

  • Handle service disruptions (e.g., network partitions) and implement load-shedding, throttling, and rate-limiting

  • Define KPIs, telemetry, dashboards, and alerting to proactively monitor component and system health

  • Design correctness/availability with complex test scenarios (e.g., fault-injection, brown-out) and data replication/synchronization

  • Lead operational troubleshooting, incident management, mentor others, and participate in operational support rotations

  • Implement multi-tenant security measures (encryption and access controls) and execute security remediation plans

  • Develop and maintain automation and IaC tools for cloud infrastructure; define change management for patching/updates/rollbacks

Requirements

  • Experience designing and implementing scalable distributed systems

  • Ability to design for system reliability and fault-tolerance (redundancy, replication, failover)

  • Expertise in performance engineering, including load testing and telemetry/KPI/alerting

  • Ability to design correctness/availability via replication/synchronization and fault-injection/brown-out style testing

  • Experience in operational troubleshooting, incident response, and operational readiness/rotations

  • Knowledge of multi-tenant security controls, encryption, access controls, and security remediation

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation for cloud infrastructure and application change/rollback

  • Ability to support compliance requirements and maintain up-to-date documentation
