Description

Lead reliable installation, maintenance, and operation of optical transport and data center optical infrastructure in customer and co-location environments. Serve as the interface between the customer and Ericsson’s vendors, conducting audits and ensuring high-quality execution for installations, migrations, remediation, break/fix, and remote hands services.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily audits of work performed on Ericsson’s behalf and provide immediate feedback to 3PP technicians

  • Interact with customers via ticketing tools or in person, providing clear reports and updates

  • Assist with fiber installation, decommissioning, break/fix, remediation, and migration activities

  • Conduct and/or supervise optical testing and troubleshooting using optical power meters, stabilized light sources, VFLs, OTDRs, and test sets

  • Execute services by interpreting Methods of Procedure (MoPs), engineering/vendor documentation, and network diagrams

  • Read cut sheets and physical network design documents to ensure correct port connections and cable management

Requirements

  • 3–15 years of experience in data center operations or a similar technical environment with direct customer interaction

  • Team lead experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with connectorized fiber optic cabling (single-mode and multi-mode), LC, fan-outs, and structured cabling

  • Demonstrated experience with optical testing and transport troubleshooting

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills using customer applications and/or Microsoft Office

  • Ability to multitask, stay composed under pressure, and adapt in fast-paced, high-availability environments

  • Strong written and verbal English for customer-facing communications and relationship building

  • Commitment to safety standards, quality requirements, and operational best practices

  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs; comfortable working at heights and in varying environmental conditions
