Description

Support the development of embedded hardware solutions for electronic access control and security products. Work on defining and scoping hardware requirements, designing and documenting architecture, performing schematic capture, PCB layout, testing, and integrating into a larger modular system. Gain experience in RF design and antenna considerations, basic electronics, and peer reviews on design and testing.

What You Will Do

  • Utilize tools engineering tools for schematic capture, PCB layout, simulation, and design analysis
  • Gain experience in embedded hardware design and testing techniques
  • Deepen your understanding of RF design and antenna considerations
  • Work with a team to produce well-rounded solutions
  • Participate in daily and other regular team meetings, including project teams and hardware competency
  • Deepen your understanding in basic electronics and the use of electrical tools, such as a digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, and digital logic analyzers
  • Obtain the experience to create a foundation for growth and future opportunities with Allegion

What You Need To Succeed

  • Pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology)
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative (e.g., school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, leadership on school or work projects)
  • At least one class in basic circuit theory or design (preference is mid-level proficiency in circuit design)
  • Familiarity with Altium Designer or equivalent ECAD design tool is a plus
  • Effective listening, time management and creative problem-solving techniques
  • A desire to learn, grow and develop by working on projects that will impact customers and the business
