Engineering Manager - Delivery Experience Backend Team

The Delivery Experience area is searching for an Engineering Manager to lead a backend team of 4 people, including backend engineers and testers.

  • Innovative Integrations: Manage and develop key APIs for the delivery network, enabling external partners to integrate with infrastructure such as parcel lockers. Oversee hybrid integrations that connect multiple carriers.
  • Business & Tech Synergy: Bridge business and technology, translate complex business expectations into technical solutions, and represent the organization in technical discussions with external partners.

Working Model

  • Flexible working hours in a hybrid model (4/1), with start times between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
  • 30 days of occasional remote work.
  • Team based in Warsaw.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute the strategic migration of microservices from .NET to JVM/Kotlin/GCP without disrupting ongoing operations.
  • Manage, mentor, and support a backend engineering team through a major technology stack transition.
  • Maintain existing integration APIs and develop features for incoming carriers and new business requests.
  • Translate business stakeholder needs for the engineering team and ensure technical deliverables align with business expectations.
  • Lead technical discussions and negotiations with business partners.
  • Support daily team operations, including on-call duties and hands-on technical guidance.

Requirements

  • Strong backend development background in .NET or Java and enthusiasm for leading a transformation toward the JVM ecosystem.
  • Experience planning, managing, and executing complex system migrations or architectural overhauls.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to turn high-level business needs into actionable technical tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence representing the team in technical discussions.
  • Willingness to be hands-on when necessary.
  • Product-oriented mindset and proven experience maintaining and scaling critical APIs.
  • Fluency in Polish and English at B2 level.
