Description

Design elements of the Vehicle Management System (VMS) hardware by working across engineering disciplines and collaborating with requirements, software, and labs teams. Translate customer requirements into system architecture, hardware design, and interface specifications with end-to-end traceability across the product lifecycle.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements decomposition and traceability from customer need to testable design
  • Develop, document, and maintain electronic and electrical system requirements according to contract requirements and customer feedback
  • Design hardware, software, and interface specifications
  • Develop statement-of-work and technical performance specifications
  • Analyze, translate, and implement customer requirements into system architecture, hardware design and interface specifications, maintaining traceability throughout the product lifecycle
  • Define test and validation approach to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
  • Troubleshoot integration and sustainment anomalies across hardware/software life cycles
  • Investigate emerging technologies for future product concepts and internal business strategy application
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integrity and compliance with requirements
  • Coordinate suppliers, test labs, and cross-discipline engineering to deliver on schedule and cost
  • Solve problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements and technical standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering/science discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical; Computer Science; Data Science; Mathematics; Physics; Chemistry)
  • Level 4 (Senior) experience: 9+ years with a bachelor’s, or 7+ years with a masters, or 4+ years with a PhD
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance; interim Secret pre-start and final Secret post-start required
  • US export control compliance: must be a U.S. Person under 22 C.F.R. 120.62
  • Must satisfy Company Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process
  • 100% onsite work requirement; 1st shift

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with Vehicle Management Systems
  • Prior experience with Supplier Management
  • Active Secret Clearance or higher
