Description

The SEIT Lead ensures the integrity of engineering processes and timely development of core engineering work products supporting operations, sustainment, and enhancement of the ground segment. The role typically includes Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities for cost and schedule management of planned system updates, and it serves as the primary interface for multi-party technical working groups with giver-receiver coordination and action tracking.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Serve as the cost account manager for systems engineering (and potentially multiple other organizations)
  • Plan and execute core engineering leadership functions and ensure qualified staff for program core functions
  • Plan, execute, and close out program reviews and milestones (SRR, MVP, MVC, FAT, SAT, etc.)
  • Ensure system technical compliance with the program Statement of Work (SOW) and system requirements; manage scope control of the technical team
  • Manage vertical and horizontal technical integration across product teams and throughout the program life-cycle
  • Oversee configuration management of the overall operational technical Baseline
  • Serve as the Logistics and Supportability Interface to ensure horizontal integration across applicable phases of the program lifecycle
  • Collect, manage, and report program metrics and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs)
  • Manage risk and opportunity; produce core engineering work products and track dependencies in the program schedule
  • Support transition of new space segment hardware and software to operations, maintenance, and sustainment stakeholders
  • Coordinate technical leads, program manager, and customer to ensure integrity and executability of the program technical baseline
  • Act as primary technical working group lead and interface with external parties; manage contractor giver-receivers and track actions
  • Lead technical management and execution of the SE team; direct integrated engineering development at ground segment and mission levels
  • Drive requirements development for new capabilities where applicable
  • Identify and manage resources needed for test planning, testing, and mission milestones
  • Manage the cyber and infrastructure team to stand up and maintain an accredited environment
  • Lead system analysis and trade studies as needed

Basic Qualifications

  • B.S. in STEM with 12 years of experience or M.S. in STEM with 10 years of experience or 8 years with a PhD
  • Active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Experience leading technical teams
  • Experience in systems development, integration, and test
  • Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Ground Systems
  • Familiarity with software development and agile processes
  • Experience working with 3rd parties and developing partner/customer
