Description

SAIC is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to support a critical SETA program for the NRO’s Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED) in Chantilly, VA. The role requires flexible task execution, technical/professional expertise across systems engineering topics, and advising the government on program activities.

The successful candidate will apply systems engineering experience and creative thought leadership to mature and develop multi-intelligence solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in planning capabilities for mission operations (e.g., automation, resiliency, situational awareness)
  • Analyze user needs; develop concepts of operation, high-level systems architectures; define capability needs and system requirements
  • Coordinate with government and contractor points of contact across Agencies, Directorates, and Offices to refine future ground system capabilities
  • Identify and communicate architecture/system-level trades, systems engineering risks, issues, opportunities, and dependencies
  • Support integration of architectures with other components of the technical baseline
  • Collaborate with SETA team members, engineers across contractor/government organizations, and mission users
  • Create assessments and briefings for a variety of audiences in a crisp, articulate manner

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s with 14+ years experience; or Master’s with 12+ years experience
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph (active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph required)
  • Proven experience in core systems engineering and analysis disciplines and processes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, energetic environment
  • Team player with collaboration and open communication
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in STEM or related discipline
  • Background in engineering, computer science, or information systems
  • Ability to build, integrate, and analyze MBSE architectural representations
  • Domain/tool knowledge in Agile practices (Scrum, DevOps, JIRA, Kanban)
  • Experience with data management services and cloud software architecture
  • Prior US military and/or IC customer experience

Benefits

Target salary range $160,001 - $200,000 (estimated based on experience and other factors).
