Join a collaborative anesthesia team in the heart of the Adirondacks. The role seeks a board-certified or board-eligible anesthesiologist to deliver high-quality, personalized care while serving CVPH in Plattsburgh, NY.

Position Highlights

• Primary Site: CVPH – a 300-bed hospital with 9 OR’s, a Labor and Delivery ward, and an Ambulatory Surgery Center
• Care Model: Mixture of team-based and solo practice
• Faculty Appointment Option: Option for a faculty appointment at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont; associated scholarship equal to the cost of in-state tuition for dependents
• Team Composition: 8 full-time anesthesiologists and 6 CRNAs
• Call Structure: Equitably shared among anesthesiologists (typically includes one 24-hour first-call and one second-call per week); weekend call varies; second-call providers within a 30-minute radius; second-call providers generally released by 1 PM next day; home call permitted with a 15-minute response time; overnight responsibilities include epidurals, OB, and general surgery emergencies (no neurosurgery)
• Work–Life Balance: Flexible scheduling to tailor call volume to lifestyle
• Shifts: 8-hour first shifts and 6-hour post-second shifts, plus ~30 additional shifts annually
• AHMC Coverage: Currently limited to vacation coverage only
• Time Off: Physicians working 1.0 FTE typically take 25 vacation days annually

• Case Mix: No open-heart, intracranial neurosurgery, or intensive pediatric cases

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $603,613 plus a $50,000 sign-on bonus
• Student Loan Repayment: $60K for qualified loans

• Support for Meetings and Continuing Medical Education (CME): Annual $8000 balance and 10 meeting days that can be contributed towards CME activities
