Job Description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an OB Laborist physician, you will join a healthcare team specializing in diagnosing and treating a wide array of women’s health cases. The role focuses on high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered medicine.

You will provide compassionate, expert care; conduct thorough assessments; develop individualized treatment plans; and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support the holistic well-being of patients and their families.

The successful candidate is a skilled, board-certified, compassionate OB/GYN physician with expertise in diagnosing and managing complex women’s health disorders, strong communication abilities, a commitment to patient-centered care, and the ability to thrive in a collegial, supportive environment.

This is a full-time position at a 124-bed Level III trauma center.

  • Join a team of 5 OB/GYN physicians, 6 CNMs, and 2 APPs.
  • Work approximately 7 on-site 24-hour shifts per month, totaling 91 shifts per year.
  • Provide 24-hour on-site labor and delivery coverage, collaborate with CNMs, and cover gynecologic emergencies and surgeries in the emergency department.
  • The group performs approximately 120 deliveries per month.
  • Provide a mix of gynecology and obstetrics care, including high-risk obstetrics.
  • Typical cases include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, and laparoscopy.
  • A special care nursery can care for infants as young as 32 weeks; a nearby partner facility provides Level III NICU transfer support, with specialty newborn care available through a pediatric partner.
  • The women’s health service line includes 6 MFMs, 1 urogynecologist, and 2 gynecologic oncologists.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or eligibility in OB/GYN
  • Active or eligible license in the state of Washington
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families

Pay Range

$375,000–$375,000 per year
