Senior Backend & Data Engineer

What You’ll Do

• Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, high-performance solutions while ensuring compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory standards.
• Integrate with internal systems, with a focus on fast data processing and cost optimization.
• Design and document solution blueprints for market-data ingestion patterns.
• Review and provide feedback on team members’ solutions.
• Assess and modernize existing data pipelines and microservices to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to align solutions with business needs.
• Implement industry-standard logging, monitoring, error handling, and automated recovery.
• Promote automated unit and regression testing as part of a test-centric development approach.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java and backend application design.
• Practical Python experience, particularly with AI tools, automation, and AI-based solutions.
• Hands-on DevOps experience with Kubernetes, GCP, and Terraform.
• Experience with Event-Driven Architecture and Apache Kafka.
• Expertise in ETL processes, data integration, and data processing.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL databases.
• Solid understanding of KISS, SOLID, and DRY software design principles.
• Proficiency in the Spring Boot Framework and its ecosystem.
• Experience designing and implementing high-performance data-processing pipelines, preferably with Apache Beam.
• Experience designing and implementing REST APIs.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and Bigtable.
• Basic understanding of DevOps and CI/CD technologies, including Jenkins and Groovy scripting.
• Experience with integration frameworks and patterns, such as Saga and Lambda patterns.
• Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with GCP services, including GKE, Cloud SQL, Dataflow, and Bigtable.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform.
• Knowledge of messaging and streaming systems, including Kafka.
• Experience with Vaadin or Apache Beam.
