Scala & Spark Developer

The platform uses Big Data, AI, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to identify potential financial crime risks. It enables a global network of investigators, intelligence analysts, and data scientists to conduct effective intelligence-based investigations. The project is the next generation of tooling for combatting financial crime, covering investment banking, commercial banking, and retail banking globally.

Role Description

• Create pipelines in GCP using Spark Shell to analyze data in one of the world’s largest data lakes.
• Use Airflow to validate tests.
• Work in an Agile Scrum framework with teams in Poland, China, and the UK.
• Complete the sprint backlog and help the team accomplish all goals.
• Collaborate with software developers onsite and remotely.
• Maintain code standards through testing, refactoring, and fixes.
• Assist Product Owners in refining technical backlog items.
• Share knowledge within the team and across wider teams.
• Participate in the end-to-end product development cycle, including releases to production.

Requirements

• Very good knowledge of Scala and Spark.
• GitHub.
• Airflow and basic Python.
• Jira and Confluence.
• Experience working within a Scrum framework.
• Good communication skills in English.

Nice-to-have

• GCP and Apache Airflow.
• JUnit, TDD, and BDD.
• Jenkins.
• Clean Code, SOLID, KISS, DRY, and design patterns.
• Elasticsearch.
• Experience with Azure or AWS.
• Secure Code Warrior certifications.
