Resilience Director

The Resilience Director will lead and oversee the Bank’s operational resilience framework, ensuring its ability to withstand, respond to and recover from significant operational, technological and cyber-related disruptions.

The role requires a senior professional with extensive experience at the intersection of business, technology, risk and regulatory requirements, ideally within financial services. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and key decision-making committees, providing independent challenge, strategic direction and actionable recommendations on resilience and recovery capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation and ongoing development of the Bank’s operational resilience framework.
  • Oversee critical service identification, impact tolerances, BIA, end-to-end dependency mapping, recovery planning and resilience testing.
  • Ensure effective capabilities across business continuity, technology and cyber recovery, incident and crisis management.
  • Provide expert guidance on DORA and European and Polish regulatory requirements, including EBA and KNF expectations.
  • Assess the Bank’s actual recovery capabilities, including technology, infrastructure, data, backup, failover and third-party ICT dependencies.
  • Translate complex technology and operational risks into business impact, risk appetite, investment priorities and recommendations for senior management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in operational resilience, business continuity, technology risk, cyber resilience, operational risk, technology audit or crisis management.
  • Proven experience designing and overseeing enterprise-wide resilience, risk or control frameworks within the financial sector.
  • Strong experience working with senior management and executive-level committees.
  • Advanced practical knowledge of operational resilience, recovery planning, crisis management and scenario-based testing.
  • Expert knowledge of DORA and relevant European and Polish regulatory requirements concerning ICT risk, outsourcing, cyber resilience and operational resilience.
  • Strong understanding of technology and cyber recovery, including application/infrastructure dependencies, data integrity, backups, restoration and failover.
  • Excellent ability to translate technical and operational risks into business decisions and actionable recommendations.
  • Fluent English and Polish are mandatory.
