Senior Payments Production Support Engineer – Global IT Solutions

Krakow-based opportunity with a hybrid work model of up to 3 remote days per week.

Description

As a Senior Payments Production Support Engineer, you will maintain and optimize a platform responsible for payments execution, messaging, orchestration, and sanctions and investigation services. You will help ensure the reliability and stability of essential financial operations in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day production support, including live incident resolution and post-incident problem management.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex system issues and identify root causes under pressure.
• Install and configure vendor software releases and implement locally developed automation solutions using Shell Script, Java, Bash, and Python.
• Support testing for new deployments and system updates.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders to review, optimize, and re-engineer processes using new technologies.
• Design and implement service improvements, capability uplifts, and process automation initiatives.
• Analyze system architecture and performance metrics to optimize platform stability.
• Participate in data validation, development, testing, and data reconciliation activities.
• Lead and support automation tasks within CI/CD pipelines, following Agile and DevOps practices.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of SQL and PL/SQL experience.
• At least 5 years of Linux administration and scripting expertise.
• At least 3 years of Kubernetes experience.
• Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture and components.
• Hands-on automation experience with Bash, Python, or Java.
• Knowledge of system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• CI/CD pipeline management experience in high-frequency change environments.
• Experience working in Agile or DevOps teams supporting production environments.
• Strong triage capability, priority judgment, and communication skills in high-pressure situations.

Nice to Have

• Payments domain experience.
• Knowledge of Puppet, Ansible, or similar configuration-management tools.
• Familiarity with AppDynamics and Splunk.
• Python or Java development experience.

Language

• Fluent spoken and written English.
