Description

The gastroenterologist will serve as a primary physician managing acute hospitalizations related to gastrointestinal disease processes. Responsibilities include management of GERD, PUD, GI bleeding, esophageal and variceal bleeding, GI cancers, Crohn's disease, IBS, and other GI-related illnesses and conditions.

• Perform admissions, consultations, daily rounding, and discharges.
• Write or dictate history and physical, consultation, and daily notes.
• Prescribe and order medications, therapies, diets, and diagnostic studies.
• Order and interpret laboratory and imaging studies and procedures consistent with clinical privileges.
• Provide patient counseling, comprehensive teaching, consent, and preparation for inpatient GI procedures.
• Maintain a strong focus on clinical excellence, quality, and patient satisfaction.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday. Work is split between the hospital and ambulatory surgery center.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterologist.
• Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
