The Executive Director oversees the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for adult and adolescent programming.

Role Summary

The Executive Director provides visionary leadership, drives operational excellence, and ensures accountability for clinical quality, regulatory compliance, financial management, and program growth. This role represents the organization to clients, families, staff, and the broader community while fostering an inclusive and culturally competent environment.

Responsibilities include overseeing clinic operations, managing the site's P&L, evaluating staff performance, providing clinical training, leading outreach initiatives, and staying current on behavioral health regulations and trends.

Role Responsibilities

  • Trusted Advisor: Build referral relationships, provide consultative guidance, and drive referral growth.
  • Ambassador & Community Engagement: Represent the organization locally, expand referral networks, and participate in professional events.
  • Clinical Quality Champion: Oversee PHP/IOP programming, enforce evidence-based care (DBT, CBT, ACT, MI), conduct chart audits, review treatment plans, and monitor KPIs.
  • Operational & Financial Leadership: Own clinic-level P&L, manage staffing and productivity, ensure compliance (including CARF), and implement process improvements.
  • Market Strategist & Growth Leadership: Guide growth initiatives using market insight and payer knowledge; expand census and services.
  • People Developer & Team Leadership: Lead a team of 25–30 staff, provide supervision, conduct evaluations, and foster an inclusive culture.
  • Systems & Technology Competence: Utilize EHR systems (Kipu preferred), support documentation and reporting, and maintain supervisory records.
  • Safety & Client Care: Ensure safety protocols and coordinate with external providers and community partners.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field with 5+ years post-Master’s experience.
  • Active independent licensure (LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LPC, or LMFT).
  • 5–7 years clinical experience in higher levels of care and 2+ years in management.
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision if eligible.
  • Experience serving adolescents and adults in mental health settings.
  • Knowledge of DBT, CBT, ACT, MI, and group therapy.
  • Experience with financial operations and clinic growth.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills and cultural competency.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years post-independent licensure.
