The IT System Administrator will work as part of a small team in a fast paced, high-energy manufacturing environment supporting operations in Kermit and Monahans, TX.
Responsibilities
- Work in a manufacturing environment indoors and outdoors, diagnosing computers interfacing with factory equipment, process controls, monitoring, and automation.
- Provide desktop support for local and remote office staff.
- Administer production Windows Server operating systems on-premise, at remote locations, and in cloud services such as Office 365 and Azure.
- Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Manage shared storage environments including DAS, NAS, and SAN devices.
- Deploy IT infrastructure across multiple locations, including virtualization, Exchange administration, advanced Active Directory, ERP, Business Intelligence systems, and web presence.
- Install and operate open-source software such as Linux, Apache, and PHP.
- Administer LAN/WAN networking products including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Perform scripting and automation of administrative processes in Linux and Windows environments.
- Document processes and procedures and support mentoring and training efforts.
- Travel within Texas as required and provide flexible, on-call support.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or AAS in a technical field such as Computer Science; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum two years of real-world experience in desktop support and production server administration.
- Strong expertise in Windows Server and desktop support.
- Ability to work in both manufacturing (outdoor) and office environments.
