Position Overview

The IT Systems Administrator serves as the dedicated, on-site technology leader for a 503B outsourcing facility in Alachua, Florida. This is a high-impact, hands-on role at the intersection of information technology and pharmaceutical manufacturing compliance. The successful candidate will own the full IT infrastructure stack for the site while acting as the primary technical owner for all GMP-regulated computerized systems — including EMS, BMS, CMMS/CCMS, LIMS, QMS, and EBR/MES platforms.

This position requires a strong understanding of FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP 5 CSV principles, and data integrity standards within a regulated pharmaceutical environment. The IT Systems Administrator partners with Quality, Engineering, Validation, and Operations to ensure systems remain validated, audit-ready, and in a continuous state of compliance.

Key Responsibilities

GMP Computerized Systems Administration

  • Serve as primary technical owner for EMS, BMS, CMMS/CCMS, LIMS, QMS, and EBR/MES platforms.
  • Maintain systems in a validated state in accordance with GAMP 5 guidelines.
  • Manage audit trails, electronic signatures, and user access controls per 21 CFR Part 11 and ALCOA+ standards.
  • Support the CSV lifecycle including URS, FDS, configuration specifications, and IQ/OQ execution.
  • Manage periodic reviews and participate in Change Control.

Site IT Infrastructure & Network Management

  • Support LAN/WAN, VLANs, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, QoS, ZTNA, and OT/IT segmentation.
  • Maintain secure connectivity across office and manufacturing environments.
  • Isolate BMS, EMS, SCADA, and PLC networks from corporate IT infrastructure.

GMP Cybersecurity & Data Integrity

  • Implement cybersecurity controls aligned with FDA guidance.
  • Manage IAM using Okta, Active Directory, or Azure AD; enforce RBAC and least privilege.
  • Maintain compliant backup and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Protect electronic records from unauthorized modification or deletion.

Cloud Infrastructure & SaaS Platform Management

  • Administer cloud infrastructure and enterprise SaaS platforms including Google Workspace and ERP systems.
  • Evaluate SaaS vendors for 21 CFR Part 11 readiness.

End-User Support, Training & Onboarding

  • Provide on-site IT support across manufacturing and administrative teams.
  • Manage devices across macOS, Windows, and Linux using Intune, Addigy, or NinjaOne.
  • Deliver GMP-compliant IT training and maintain asset inventory.

Automation, Scripting & Operational Efficiency

  • Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Utilize RMM/MDM platforms such as ConnectWise, NinjaOne, Addigy, or Intune.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance reliability and meet RTO objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of IT systems administration experience.
  • 2–3 years in a GMP-regulated environment.
  • Experience with 21 CFR Part 11 regulated systems and CSV activities.
  • Knowledge of GAMP 5, data integrity principles, and GMP Change Control.
  • Proficiency with Windows Server, Windows 10/11, macOS, Linux.
  • Strong networking expertise (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, DNS/DHCP, OT/IT segmentation).
  • Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi or Proxmox.
  • Experience with Okta, Azure AD/Entra ID, or Active Directory.
  • Experience with endpoint management platforms (Intune, NinjaOne, ConnectWise, Addigy).
  • Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
