Shipping Team Lead – Lead Operations That Keep Production Moving

Bath Fitter is looking for a Shipping Team Lead to join our Tennessee Manufacturing Plant. In this role, you'll lead daily shipping operations, support continuous improvement initiatives, and help drive safety, productivity, and team engagement across the department.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead daily shipping operations while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity goals are met
  • Prepare daily shipping schedules and adjust labor assignments based on production demands
  • Conduct daily team meetings using visual management tools and KPI performance metrics
  • Monitor department performance and maintain accurate production and departmental data
  • Support and lead Continuous Improvement initiatives utilizing Kaizen and PDCA methodologies
  • Develop and maintain standardized work instructions and train team members accordingly
  • Utilize and train employees on internal systems, including Navision ERP
  • Coordinate staffing coverage to support absences and changing production needs
  • Partner with Production, Materials, Customer Service, and leadership teams to resolve issues quickly
  • Coach, motivate, and develop team members in a high-volume environment
  • Support employee evaluations and skill development initiatives
  • Promote employee engagement and participation in company and community events
  • Prepare shipping paperwork and Bills of Lading when supporting Shipping Clerk responsibilities
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with transportation providers
  • Audit shipping documents, transportation charges, and carrier paperwork for accuracy
  • Ensure flawless daily execution while maintaining a positive and motivating work environment
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

We're looking for someone with:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Two years of higher education in a related field or equivalent experience preferred
  • Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or shipping environment
  • 5+ years of leadership experience preferred
  • Forklift operating experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience creating and documenting procedures and work instructions
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build trust, credibility, and engagement with team members
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications
  • ERP system experience; Navision experience is a plus
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 125 lbs
  • Push and pull up to 60 lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Occasional twisting, kneeling, squatting, crouching, and climbing
  • Comfortable working in environments with heat, humidity, and moving equipment
