Description

You will design and build a system that automates tax compliance across 117 countries, supporting the full flow from data clean-up to submission. This is an architecture role where you spend more time understanding the tax domain and shaping the system than writing routine code, with AI coding assistants used for most of the build work. Your goal is to create an architecture that tax experts can safely evolve without waiting on engineers.

Responsibilities

• Go deep into the tax domain by partnering with tax experts who own returns, templates, periods, and corrections

• Design architectures that follow the domain cleanly and avoid workarounds

• Own one major initiative from design to production

• Make design decisions on a live system that files real returns; ensure filed output never changes by accident

• Write clear design documentation so engineers, tax experts, and management can review and challenge it

• Use AI coding assistants as the main way of building, and review their output with an architect’s eye

Requirements

• Communicate clearly in plain language to both engineers and tax experts, in writing and out loud

• Demonstrate deep domain thinking by asking why rules exist before deciding where they live

• Design clean architectures with boundaries aligned to the domain and responsibilities placed in one place

• Have built and shipped production changes that others depend on; explain why the system is shaped that way
