Description

Design, develop, and continuously deploy complex full-stack technical solutions for a regulated Pharma R&D environment. Own architectural decisions and define a technical vision for the R&D application landscape, focusing on business value, while collaborating cross-functionally with IT and R&D experts. Mentor engineers, improve engineering workflows, and leverage AI-assisted development tools to increase code quality and delivery speed.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and continuously deploy complex full-stack solutions

• Drive architecture for scalable systems and contribute hands-on development

• Define and execute a technical vision for R&D applications with business value focus

• Identify technical risks and gaps; propose solution approaches and guide the team

• Mentor engineers and support technical growth across teams

• Introduce new technologies; improve workflows and challenge existing patterns

• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and delivery speed

• Combine software expertise with scientific understanding (e.g., computational biology/chemistry)

Requirements

• University degree in Computer Science or equivalent natural science degree

• 5–8+ years of professional experience with expert-level skills in at least two modern programming languages

• Experience with backend development and/or frontend frameworks such as React.js

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), containerization, and serverless architecture

• Hands-on expertise in data engineering and/or data science

• Deep understanding of Agile, CI/CD, and automated testing

• Comfortable making technical decisions in ambiguous problem spaces

• Proven experience leading engineering initiatives and developing others
