Description

You will develop and maintain server-side, JVM-based applications that shape, manage, and transform data on a large distributed infrastructure. The work includes building Flink streaming jobs and scalable ETL pipelines plus APIs to deliver real-time insights across the Cloud Streaming data pipeline. You will collaborate with Business Intelligence to translate product requirements into actionable information for business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement middleware and backend systems for high throughput and load
• Develop and maintain Flink stream processing jobs (stateful/stateless) and scalable ETL jobs
• Optimize performance, reliability, and monitoring for the data pipeline stack
• Support migration of on-premises Kafka to new cloud technologies
• Perform in-depth analysis of functional/business requirements
• Contribute to architecture decisions for the cloud streaming data pipeline
• Liaise with Business Intelligence and product domain teams to turn data into business value

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years of backend/software development experience with high-throughput, concurrent, high-availability, fault-tolerant systems
• Proficiency in JVM languages (Kotlin, Scala, Java) and Python
• Experience with Apache Kafka, Flink, Spark, and SQL
• Knowledge of functional/object-oriented paradigms and TDD
• Knowledge of web technologies: REST, JSON, gRPC, WebSockets
• Expertise with JSON, Avro, and Protobuf plus unstructured and semi-structured data
• Experience with ETL, stream processing, real-time pipelines, and batch processing
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD
• Track record monitoring and analyzing performance and isolating reliability/scalability bottlenecks
• Self-motivated communication and collaboration skills in distributed teams
