Description

Provide direct and indirect nursing care to clinic patients and their families using comprehensive assessment, nursing care plans, and patient education. Deliver holistic, individualized care and coordinate an interdisciplinary plan that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors. Maintain collaborative communication with patients, families/support groups, physicians, and other healthcare providers while adhering to policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws/regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessment

• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized nursing care plans

• Provide ongoing evaluation and patient education

• Coordinate interdisciplinary plan of care including psychosocial and lifestyle factors

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other providers

• Follow policies, safety precautions, and regulatory/industry standards to ensure high-quality patient experience

• Maintain privacy of protected health information (PHI)

• Engage in continuous professional nursing growth and development

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

• RN (Registered Nurse) license in California

• BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification

• 2 years of recent relevant experience

• Oncology Nursing Certification (e.g., OCN, CPHON, CBCN, BMTCN, AOCNP) issued by ONCC within the required timeframe based on oncology experience

• For oncology infusion or administration of chemotherapy/immunotherapy: ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card within 90 days (unless department/entity sets alternate timeframe)

• If new to oncology or with < 1 year oncology experience: complete ONS Foundations of Oncology Nursing Practice courses within 90 days
